A Story of Advanced Practice – the past, the present and the future

We, the touchconsulting Ltd team, tell a story of advanced practice.

APConnect Team 2021-2022 From Top Left to Bottom Right: Joss Kang, (then alphabetically) Bryony Croft, Mary Conway, Christina Donovan, Colin Forrest, Philip Green, Kayte Haselgrove, Chloe Hynes, Tracey Lee, Joanne Miles, Lou Mycroft, Matt O’Leary, Julie Sinclair, Lisa Sidwells, Lynne Taylerson, Alison Tanik and Sammy White

We’ve organised the story into chapters: the past, the present and the future.

We’ve curated evidence and resources and our insights from designing, running and evaluating the Education and Training Foundation’s Professional Development Programme for those operating in AP-type roles across England. We’ve been running this programme, known across the sector as #APConnect, since 2018. Individually and collectively we’ve learnt loads about advanced practice and the role of the Advanced Practitioner, and we are still learning.

We’re curating this resource (work-in-progress), which includes an #APConnect Living Archive. We hope it becomes a trusted ally as you plan and curate Northstar professional development for your APs. Our intention is for you to use this resource critically to curate, as part of your Northstar experience, evidence-informed and powerful professional development opportunities for your APs that fit your context. You can use, contribute to, adapt or skip through this resource. You know your context better than anyone else. Enjoy!

The various chapters can be reached via the arrows on the timeline or by following these links:
