#APConnect – The Engine Room of Change in FE 2018-2022
In 2018 The Education and Training Foundation commissioned touchconsulting Ltd to design and deliver the ‘Professional Development Programme for Advanced Practitioners.’ This title soon morphed into the snappier #APConnect and the work evolved year on year. The programme closed in March 2022.
#APConnect brought a new approach to professional learning in FE – a modicum of expert-led CPD (less than you’d think), combined with the released capactity of pan-organisation, peer-led professional learning. touchconsulting Ltd built the virtual practice architectures for this empowering approach to flourish.

The networking and collaboration facilitated through meets or communication tools have been excellent, the opportunities provided for the APs to develop skills has also been fantastic.
There is a real body of shared practice growing through this project. This focus on teaching and learning through APs and educators is having a very positive impact on teachers. If teachers aren’t motivated, then what chance is there for learners.
